At the easel or in front of a wall to repaint, you put this painter's smock on arms first, like a jacket worn back to front. Two ties then fasten at the back, at the neck and at the waist. Your hair stays as it is. It falls to the knees, and the elasticated cuffs keep the sleeves above your hands when you raise your brush.
On the front, a large pocket holds rags and brushes. Behind it, a second pocket with a zip keeps your phone away from paint-covered fingers.
For oils and acrylics, choose black or khaki: drips blend in. Red and green show the dirt more, so keep them for a smock that also does duty in the kitchen or the garden.
