Where canvas tears, leather takes the mark and carries on.
Two layers of cowhide, one on top of the other. That is what gives the apron its weight when you pick it up, and it is exactly what you want from it. It covers the chest and reaches mid-thigh on most adults.
The leather develops a patina. It darkens where you wipe it, it keeps a trace of what you do in it. After a year, two identical aprons no longer look alike.
Wear it at the barbecue and at the workbench, where you would rather not count the stains.
